Electronic Document and Records Management System

The Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS) is an open platform for business critical collaboration and document and record management for documents and related records. To enable the automation of document-intensive business processes and large-scale collaboration, the University has selected Alfresco to be the official document and record management solution. Alfresco Enterprise Edition is a commercially and proprietary licensed open source, open standards and enterprise scale system. Its design is geared towards users who require a high degree of modularity and scalable performance.

The Electronic Document and Record Management System (EDRMS) initiative is a joint project between Vice-Provost & Associate Vice-President (Information Services & Technology) and the Vice President (Finance and Administration). These two offices provide funding for Alfresco licenses and external consulting for core EDRMS project work. The University Records Officer will provide records management processes and be the subject matter expert (SME) for issues pertaining to records management. Information Services and Technology (IST) will provide operational and development services.
