Ice Core Symposium

The Canadian Ice Core Archive will enable and support internationally unique and integrated climate, environmental, biological and contaminants research that focuses on some of the most important and policy-relevant environmental questions of our time.

The symposium brings together internationally renowned scientists who will address important questions such as the nature, rate, and causes of recent climate change in polar regions; the history of deposition of atmospherically transported contaminants in polar and high alpine regions; the release and downstream impact of legacy contaminants held in snow and ice; and the microbiology and biogeochemistry of glacier ice and subglacial environments.
