Ed's Adventures in Finland

Hi, I'm Ed Abroad! During the Fall 2015 semester, my friend Chelci Coffey took me with her on her exchange to the University of Jyvaskyla in Jyvaskyla, Finland. She says going to Finaland was easily one the best decisions of her life. Boy was she right!

Our first week in Jyvaskyla was surreal. We lived in an international residence where we met people from over a dozen different countries. Our first morning in Jyvaskyla, we met a German girl at the bus stop. We had no idea at the time, but she became one of our closest friends. We did all sorts of things together, like travelling to Helsinki. Connecting with people from around the world is one of the best things about living abroad. We learned so much about different countries and cultures from the people around me. Another great reason to go abroad (especially in Europe), is that travelling is so easy. During one of our holidays, we got to spend travel through the beautiful Scottish Highlands and visit the Isle of Skye for an entire week!

Our exchange in Finland gave us lots of opportunities to travel, to meet people from around the world, and to make close friends. Going on this exchange was one of the best decisions we've have ever made. Are you thinking about going abroad? I say, just do it. You will not regret it. Oh and don't forget to take me with you!

Cheers,

- Ed
