On Thursday, October 3rd, the Wirth Institute had the great honour of celebrating a milestone in the long and impressive career of Dr. Ursula Moser.

In recognition of her outstanding contribution to scholarship and to the development of Canadian Studies internationally, Dr. Moser was awarded the 2019 Governor General's International Award for Canadian Studies.

In addition to her prolific contributions to the field of literary studies, in 1997, she founded the first Austrian Canadian Studies Centre in Innsbruck, Austria. Well-known to UAlberta Faculty members who have participated in the Innsbruck Faculty Exchange, Dr. Moser has been a tireless champion of international collaboration between scholars across many fields in both Austria and Canada for well over a decade.
