Sexual Violence and Education Coordinator

Bio: After completing her Honors degree in WGS in Fall 2013, Roxanne entered the MA program in Gender Studies at Queen's University in Fall 2014. Roxanne was awarded the Challenging Rape Culture Research Grant by Ontario Public Interest Research Group Kingston. Working with a co-researcher, she carried out a literature review and conducted interviews with campus-based anti-violence practitioners at Canadian Post-Secondary Institutions, leading them to publish a report that made recommendations for Queen's University to take in relation to sexual violence prevention. In August 2016, Roxanne was co-organizer of Ontario Universities Taking Action Against Sexual Violence, a conference that brought 250 researchers, student advocates, university administrators, anti-violence practitioners, and policy-makers to Queen's University for two days in order to share ideas, practices, and strategies to prevent sexual violence in campus contexts. In September, Roxanne returned to Edmonton to take up the job as Sexual Violence Prevention and Education Coordinator at MacEwan University.
