Are you ready to do some grading? Here are 6 reasons why you should complete your course evaluations:
1. It's Quick
10 minutes of your time could have a huge impact on the ~2000 minutes of time of the people who take the course next year.
2. It Makes a Difference
Your profs want to improve the course, and this is your chance to provide them with constructive criticism to do just that. Your feedback can help a prof learn how to improve their teaching skills and help the department/faculty figure out if the curriculum is on track or in need of adjustment.
3. It's Anonymous
Yup, you get to be honest without the worry of judgement. No one will accuse you of sucking up if you really loved the class and no one will know that you were the one who said that the class needed improvement. So say what needs to be said!
4. It's Online
You can fill out your feedback in your house.
You can fill out your feedback in a blouse.
You can fill out your feedback while you cram.
You can fill out your feedback anywhere, Sam-I-am.
5. It's a Chance to Reflect
Ah yes, the good old days of freshman year math classes. Rating your classes is a chance to think about what you've learned from the class and reflect on what you've taken away from it as a person. Plus, filling out the course review will provide you with an opportunity for a micro-review session just as you start your study plan for finals.
6. It Helps Your Fellow Students
Jokes aside for a second - we as students are in this together. If everybody fills out their feedback forms, then everyone will be able to see the results when they go to select their next round of courses. Your feedback could save someone from a boring class - or even better, it could help inspire someone to take a really awesome class! Filling out your feedback forms takes just a few minutes but can go a long way to helping your fellow students, and we owe at least that much to each other.
