To help support the University Strategic Plan, the U of A is engaging with students, faculty, staff and alumni to understand and improve the student experience. This approach is centered around co-creation and collaboration, resulting in a Student Experience Action Plan that will reflect the voices, needs and aspirations of our diverse communities.
Project goals
- Define what an exceptional student experience looks like for students (unique to the U of A, we refer to this as the “student commitment statement”).
- Identify and implement steps to deliver that student experience.
- Track and report on specific metrics to monitor success.

Launched in January 2023, the opportunities to engage are numerous, with more survey and focus group dates being added. Use the Student Experience Action Plan webpage to explore scheduled sessions and stay up to date with the latest information.
