THE APPLICATION OF TRANSPUTERS IN THE ZEUS EXPERIMENT

Transputers are used for parallel readout, triggering and data acquisition in the ZEUS experiment. This is the first time that transputers have been implemented on a large scale in experimental high energy physics. We discuss the transputer architectures in the various online systems of ZEUS.
