Mahdi Shahbakhti is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta and an Adjunct Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Michigan Technological University. He was a post-doctoral scholar at the University of California-Berkeley (2010-2012). He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta in 2009. He worked several years on control of dynamic systems in the automotive (2001-2004), robotic (2000-2001), and HVAC (1998-2000) industries. His research centers on modeling and control of dynamic systems including automotive systems, building energy systems, alternative and renewable energy systems.
