Current Scientific Regulatory Challenges in Drug Development & Safety

Symposium 2006 -- Program Book (PDF format)

Symposium Scope

In view of ever increasing concern over the safety and efficacy of medicines versus timely access to medicines, the 2006 CSPS annual scientific symposium will focus on current scientific challenges in drug development and safety. The scientific sessions will explore drug disposition; safety issues including hepatotoxicity, interactions and pharmacogenomics; dose proportionality and other applications of population pharmacokinetics. As a counterpoint, other sessions will deal with current regulatory issues around biologics, pharmaceuticals and genetic therapies to give a balance between assessing safety and timely access, and the importance of good science in drug development.
