Download / Install
If you wish to receive future announcement of POPGENE update, you must register. Send an email to Francis.Yeh@ualberta.ca and include “POPGENE Registration” in the Subject. In the body of text, please give your full name and address, plus telephone and fax numbers.

Download POPGENE and "Quick User Manual"

  • Click on a link below with the right mouse button and Select Save File from the on-screen context menu.
  • Select the directory and file name you prefer for POPGENE and "Quick User Manual", or use the default directory and the file names.
  • Click the Save button.


  • Go to the directory where you saved POPGENE.
  • Double click on the POPGENE file (Pop32.exe, or Pop16.exe, or you named) with the left mouse button.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.

Read and Print "Quick User Manual"

  • The "Quick User Manual" is a PDF file. To be able to read / print it, Download and install the free Acrobat Reader onto your computer.
  • Online-use: Click the icon below and you will be able to read / print the manual on-line. For Netscape users you may see a pop-up message box; select "Pick App", then in the "Configure External Viewer" screen, give the directory where you stored the acrobat reader; i.e., "C:\Acrobat3\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" where "C" is your harddrive. Offline-use: Right click the icon below and download the file by selecting "Save link as..." in Netscape or "Save target as..." in Internet Explorer. You can read / print the menual later using Acrobat Reader.
