Petsoc Kick-off Event for the Edmonton Section, March 1st, NREF2-001

The Edmonton Section of the Petroleum Society will be holding a Kick-off Event in NREF 2-001 on March 1st from 5 - 7 pm. The topic will be Oil Sands Technology Development in Alberta presented by Dr. Soheil Asgarpour. FREE POP AND PIZZA WILL BE SERVED. Please see attached form more details.

If you are not a member of the Petroleum Society this is a great opportunity to come out and meet some colleagues. At this meeting you will have an opportunity to sign up for membership of the Petroleum Society. As an incentive for membership, PEGSA is offering $10 off the membership fee of $20+GST. As well, PEGSA will be offering to pay for the registration fee at the Canadian International Petroleum Conference in June for individuals who are members of both PEGSA and the Petroleum Society.



SPE Regional Student Paper Contest - U of A

U of A will be hosting the Rocky Mountain/Mid-Continent Region Student Paper Contest. The contest will be held April 30 - May 1, 2006 on our campus in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

The rules for the competition and the “Contest Entry Form” are attached. The students are required to fill out a Contest Entry Form. A 200-word abstract of the paper to be presented must accompany this entry form. Abstracts and entry forms must be submitted and received by our chapter no later than Thursday March 16, 2006. This information should be received by the due date via email (spe@ualberta.ca), fax (1-780-492-0249) or regular/overnight mail service at the following address:
