Keynote Address: Stephen Darwall, “But It Would Be Wrong”
Stephen Darwall is Professor of Philosophy at Yale
University. He has written many important works in ethics and its
history, including The British Moralists and the Internal `Ought':
1640-1740 (1995), Welfare and Rational Care (2002), and
most recently, The Second-Person Standpoint: Respect, Morality, and
Accountability (2007), along with articles too numerous to
mention. He has served as President of the American Philosophical
Association, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and
Sciences.
