On Sept. 22, 2026, the University of Alberta College of Health Sciences launched the Regenerative Medicine Hub — an interdisciplinary and collaborative community working toward a future where regenerative medicine fundamentally transforms health care.

The launch took place during the Applied Pharmaceutical Innovation Life Sciences Week — Alberta’s flagship event dedicated to celebrating and advancing the life sciences sector — at Edmonton Unlimited, with community members, faculty, students, researchers and innovators in attendance.

A panel discussion featuring academic and economic leaders driving the future of precision health shared details about the new Hub, which focuses on developing groundbreaking treatments that repair the root causes of diseases, rather than alleviating symptoms. The Hub brings together experts across biomedical and clinical science, health economics, commercialization, nursing, rehabilitation and policy to rapidly advance breakthroughs from the lab bench to products and clinical practice.

At the event, guests built connections with potential collaborators and learned how the Hub will facilitate work that moves beyond symptom management to true tissue self-healing.
