Reduction in signatures required for amendments

To better serve our research community and reduce everyone’s workload, Research Services Office (RSO) has made significant changes to reduce signature requirements for amendments.

This change will reduce signatures needed to:

1. No cost end date extensions where only the end date is changing. We no longer require a signed Request for Amendment form.

2. Amendments other than no cost end date extensions. Only one set of signatures are required for these amendments.

Please visit the RSO website for more information.

In the 2015–16 fiscal year, our office processed 1,490 no cost end date extensions (approximately 50 per cent of total amendments). This change alone will reduce about 4,500 signatures per year across campus and will save time for both the research community and our office.
