This week we recap the accolades and achievements from the first two weeks of October, including an Alberta Order of Excellence recipient, this year’s record-breaking Academic All-Canadian Golden Bears and Pandas, and more!
Congratulations to the following:

- Graham Pearson — elected a fellow of the American Geophysical Union and received the Norman L. Bowen Award.
- Robert Burrell — awarded the Alberta Order of Excellence.

A big congratulations also goes out to the Golden Bears and Pandas who were recognized at this year’s Academic All-Canadian breakfast. The 162 Academic All-Canadians set a new University of Alberta record this year, breaking the previous record of 158 set in 2017–18. Academic All-Canadians must maintain an average of 80% or better over the academic year while competing full-time for one of the university’s varsity teams.
