It is my pleasure to congratulate the University of Alberta’s 2021 Killam Laureates.

Since 1967, the Killam endowments have supported hundreds of doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, and professors at the U of A. This year we celebrate 24 students, fellows, and academics from across the university who have been recognized with a Killam award for their outstanding work.

The Killam awards include some of the most prestigious graduate awards that we administer at the U of A, reflecting the highest quality of academic achievement and leadership. They also celebrate the outstanding professors who call the U of A home, recognizing their distinguished teaching, research, creative activities, mentorship, and contributions to the broader community.

Over the years the Killam Trusts have provided invaluable financial assistance to the U of A and its Killam laureates, and I want to thank the Killam trustees for their stewardship of the trusts.

Congratulations to the U of A’s 2021 Killam Laureates!
