As an ongoing effort to promote cultural exchange and international collaboration with our partner, the Sunwah Foundation, the China Institute hosted a delegation from Hong Kong and Vietnam.

As an ongoing effort to promote cultural exchange and international collaboration with our partner, the Sunwah Foundation, the China Institute hosted a delegation from Hong Kong and Vietnam consisting of Jackson Choi, Director of Sunwah Group; Betty Chan, Director of International Relations, Sunwah Foundation; Professors Ngo Thi Phuong Lan, President of University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City and Truong Ngoc Kiem, Vice Director of Cooperation and Development Department, Secretary of VNU Youth Union; as well as members of the Global Young Leaders Network (GYLN), to expand their knowledge on sustainable development and environmental conservation. Their time in Edmonton included a sustainable building tour of campus, a visit to Elk Island National Park, and a hybrid seminar with professors in attendance from the University of Alberta, Vietnam National University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Fudan University in China. 

The delegation also made a trip to Banff National Park, where they learned about local conservation efforts and the challenges of sustainable development from Senior Fellow Harvey Locke and Parks Canada Wildlife Ecologist, Barb Johnston.
