Application Process

Application Deadline is October 1.

  1. Complete the online Application for Graduate Admission
  2. Upload these supporting documents to your online application:
  • Transcripts - from all post-secondary institutions that you have attended. Transcripts should have been issued within the last two years. (Remember to scan both the front and back of the transcript. Important information on the institution's grading system and course weighting can be listed there)
  • Statement of interest - outlining your academic or professional area of specialization, specify how completion of the program would support your professional practice and identify a provisional topic for the final applied research project
  • Current curriculum vitae
  • Letters of support - three current and application specific letters of support from academic and/or professional sources. You will invite three referees to submit their letters of support through the online application system. Have their email addresses ready to input to the online application system. They will receive a system generated invitation with instructions for uploading their letters.
  • For applicants who completed their degrees in a language other than English, current English language testing results (TOEFL, MELAB, IELTS, or CAEL is acceptable) must be submitted.

After you've completed your online application

Prior to review by the admission committee, you may be contacted by MACT staff to ensure that all required information has been included in your application. You may be asked to furnish other documentation, a new CV, or a revised letter of interest. These requests are made to help strengthen your application.

The admissions committee meets in November to review all complete and eligible applications. Its recommendations for admission are forwarded to the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research (FGSR) for final approval.

If you are offered admission and receive an official admission letter from the Faculty of Graduate Studies & Research, you will be required to clear a list of admission conditions. This means that you will need to request official transcripts and degree certificates (if applicable) or other documents to be sent from the relevant institution(s) directly to the Faculty of Graduate Studies & Research. The deadline to clear conditions is found in the official admission letter.
