Alberta, and the U of A, prepare for a return to campus this Fall
Yesterday, heartened by the recent quick progress of Alberta’s vaccine program, Minister of Advanced Education Demetrios Nicolaides encouraged all post-secondary institutions in the province to prepare for a full return to on-campus learning this Fall. Practicum students in clinical areas eligible for vaccines in Phase 2C
On March 15, Alberta Health released more details about the vaccine roll-out, indicating that students undertaking placement practicums in clinical areas (patient care facilities, or providing services directly to clients in the community for Alberta Health Services) will be eligible to book a vaccination in Phase 2C. Phase 2C is estimated to start sometime between April and June. Find additional Step 2C information on the Government of Alberta’s website.
U of A field research continues within public health restrictions
Just a reminder to our community that there have been no recent changes to field research approval processes. See Field Research Activities during COVID-19 for more information.
Critical Worker Benefit does not apply to post-secondaries
The one-time benefit for workers is for health-care, social services, primary/secondary education and private sectors, and does not currently apply to the post-secondary sector.
