Eligibility

  • Superior academic achievement
  • Registered in a graduate degree program in the Department of Physics
  • Preference first given to women students whose area of research is Theoretical Physics
  • Preference given second to women students studying the Philosophy of Physics
  • Selection based on academic achievement
  • If in any given year no women applicants are available, the award may be given to any eligible student
  • Once the student population in the Department of Physics is a minimum 50 percent women, the award may be given to any eligible student
  • Open to Canadian citizens
  • Open to permanent residents
  • Open to foreign nationals holding Canadian study permits
  • Open to applicants in thesis-based study programs
  • Open to applicants in doctoral programs
  • Open to applicants in masters programs
  • Open to full time registered students only


How to apply

By nomination only. Students should contact their department for details on their application process. Nominations are submitted to GPS by the Department (or Faculty). The Graduate Scholarship Committee makes the final decision.
