Eligibility Requirements
Open to: Those from all faculties who are currently enrolled as degree-seeking students in, or have graduated from, a college or university as of the first day of the program, and have an academic interest in Japan.
Level: Undergraduate, Graduate
GPA: 3.0
Program Criteria:
- University students or graduates aged 18 or above
- A minimum Japanese language level of pre-intermediate is required by the start of the program (completed CEFR A2.1; equivalent to ICU J2 level).
- This is roughly equivalent to those students who have completed the first volume of an elementary Japanese textbook and progressed well into the second volume, such as:初級日本語げんき 2 GENKI: An Integrated Course in Elementary Japanese
- みんなの日本語初級2 Minna no Nihongo Shokyu
- なかま NAKAMA 2
- English proficiency sufficient to participate in courses taught in English (TOEFL iBT 79 / IELTS 6.0 recommended)
*Complete beginners with no prior study are not eligible.

Participants stay in the ICU on-campus dormitory:
