Illia Pokotylo

Website Maintenance and Design 

Illia Pokotylo is an Archival Assistant at the Bohdan Medwidsky Folklore Archives, and a doctoral student at the Kule Folklore Centre. He is also maintaining the centre's website and Youtube channel. Originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, Illia holds a Bachelor's degree in Music and Cultural Studies from the National Music Academy of Ukraine, and Master's degree in Media and Cultural Studies from the University of Alberta. His current research interests include Canadian choral culture, with a specific focus on Ukrainian community choirs in Edmonton.

Before joining the Kule Folklore Centre team, Illia gained valuable experience during a volunteer program at the Galicia Jewish Museum in Krakow, Poland. More recently, he worked as a settlement worker at Ukrainian Canadian Social Services (UCSS) in Edmonton, supporting Ukrainian newcomers.
