Student Library Advisory Committee

Make your voice count and help shape the future of the U of A Library!

The U of A Library (UAL) is recruiting new members for the 2026-2027 Student Library Advisory Committee. Don't miss this chance to be a part of the group that helps make the Library better for everyone! Your feedback directly influences decisions on library services, technology, and spaces.

Student Library Advisory Committee (SLAC) Overview

UAL created SLAC to better engage with students and improve the student library experience. Committee members provide feedback on library services and can raise issues or share suggestions with the Library. They also serve as library ambassadors to their respective campus communities.

SLAC members work with library staff to find new ways to improve library services and help get the word out about library initiatives. Along the way, they get a behind-the-scenes look at one of Canada's largest academic libraries and meet other students from across campus.

Membership is open to current undergraduate and graduate students at the U of A. Members are selected through an application process. The committee meets roughly once a month during the academic year. Application deadline: October 13, 2026

Please review member expectations below before submitting your application.
