C5MPT Project: Stability and Interfacial Interaction Mechanisms of Asphaltenes in Oilsands Production
C5MPT Project: Bubble-Mineral Interaction Mechanisms Associated with Fine Particle Flotation in Complex Aqueous Media
Dr. Zeng received his B.S. and MSc from Tsinghua University, and PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Dr. Zeng's research interests include various areas of surface and colloid science, nanotechnology, with a special focus on the intermolecular and surface interactions in polymer materials, complex fluids, mineral processing, oil sands engineering and biological systems, and development of advanced functional materials with novel engineering and environmental applications. His group uses the state-of-art techniques such as surface forces apparatus (SFA) and atomic force microscope (AFM) to directly probe the molecular forces at solid/oil/water/gas interfaces. Dr. Zeng co-authored and edited a book "Polymer Adhesion, Friction and Lubrication", and a list of his recent publications can be found in his group website.
