LIS Associate Professor Dr. Ali Shiri and Dr. Alvin M Schrader, Director of Research for University of Alberta Libraries and SLIS Professor Emeritus, presented a half-day workshop on research for Grant MacEwan University librarians on April 21, 2011. Dr. Schrader gave an overview of problem formulation principles and techniques, followed by Dr. Shiri who provided an introduction to Internet-based research methods and tools. GMU librarians are enthusiastic about enhancing their research expertise and scholarly contribution as GMU transitions to full degree-granting institution.
