Congratulations to Tanya Ball for her GSA Graduate Student Principal Instructor Teaching Award

Tanya Ball, SLIS alum and ATS (sessional) Instructor, is being recognized for her work in LIS 598 – Indigenous Contexts for Library and Information Studies in Canada.

Join us in congratulating SLIS alum Tanya Ball (MLIS 2017) for receiving the GSA Graduate Student Principal Instructor Teaching Award! These awards, three of which are conferred annually, recognize graduate student instructors who are especially skillful and dedicated teachers. Tanya is being recognized for her work in LIS 598 – Special Topics: Indigenous Contexts for Library and Information Studies in Canada. 

Tanya Ball worked alongside fellow SLIS alum Kayla Lar-Son (MLIS 2018) to create and instruct the LIS 598 Indigenous Contexts pilot course, which will soon become a permanent course offering. Biography

Tanya Ball (she/her) is a Michif woman currently living in amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton) in Treaty 6 Territory and Métis Region 4. She is a PhD Student at the Faculty of Native Studies where she researches Michif experiences of death and dying and a co-host for masinahikan iskwêwak: the Book Women Podcast, which is a podcast about Indigenous Storytelling.
