  • Future Energy Systems outreach and engagement team — earned the 2022 STEAM Green Award from Science Rendezvous
  • Science FUNday — returned in-person for the first time since 2020, welcoming nearly 2,500 parents and children to campus to explore the wonders of science in a sold-out, record-breaking attendance event
  • Jane Batcheller, Faculty Service Officer — recipient of the 2023 Graduate Student Supervisor Award
  • Gavin Bradley, assistant lecturer — won the 2023 Bridges of Struga International Poetry Award
  • Brenda Parlee, professor — appointed as one of three co-chairs of the UNESCO awarded World Chair, Collaboration for Indigenous-Led Biodiversity Conservation, Health and Well-being
  • Rebecca Probst, Ethan Franz, Marlow Pfiefer (Business) and Omer Syed, graduate students — placed second overall for Best Engineering Solution and won Best Team Chemistry in the Engineering and Commerce Case Competition
  • Peggy St. Jacques, assistant professor — listed as one of 25 Canadian researchers who won top international prizes by Universities Canada for her 2022 Sloan Fellowship.
  • Lisa Stein, professor & associate chair research — elected to Fellowship in the American Academy of Microbiology

  • Casey Caines, graduating student — earned a Supreme Court of Canada clerkship

  • Hadley Friedland, professor — received a 2023 Killam Accelerator Research Award
  • Royston Greenwood, professor — ranked 16 in Canada under Business and Management in the Research.com rankings
  • Andy Knight, professor and Provost Fellow in Black Excellence and Leadership — awarded Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee Medal
  • Randall Morck, professor — ranked 1 in Canada in Economics and Finance in the Research.com rankings
  • Temitope Oriola, professor — received Dorothy Killam Fellowship
  • Stephen Raitz, second-year student — received inaugural Charles Thompson Jr. Local Government Law Scholarship, presented by the International Municipal Lawyers Association
  • Bonnie Stelmach, professor — submission to the Research Partnerships Program’s call for proposals selected to receive a conditional grant
  • Evelyn Steinhauer, professor — selected for the Rideau Hall Foundation's National Advisory Committee on Indigenous Teacher Education
