Inviting your thoughts on shaping equitable ecosystems that enable all U of A members to flourish collectively

In our ongoing commitment to fostering a university culture rooted in equity, accessibility, respect and accountability, we're excited to invite your help to imagine a more equitable, diverse, inclusive and accessible future at the university.

Integrated Action Planning

Insights gathered in the final year of the Strategic Plan for Equity, Diversity & Inclusivity (EDI) have identified the need to plan for the next phase of shaping a more equitable university (read more in Stories from the Field). As such, we are embarking on developing an integrated EDI action plan. Our focus is on making equity an integral part of our culture, shifting from viewing EDI as an addition to our mission to recognizing it as "what we do." Our central question: How do we shape equitable ecosystems for collective flourishing?

The upcoming action plan will unify commitments across institutional and unit plans, ensuring clear and dynamic strategic priorities. The plan, which will complement and support Shape: The University Strategic Plan and be guided by Braiding Past, Present and Future: University of Alberta Indigenous Strategic Plan, will run parallel to the development of the People Strategy and will be underpinned by a commitment to meaningful progress, moving beyond checkboxes to tangible outcomes.

I invite every member of our community—students, researchers, faculty, staff, and others—to share your thoughts. We welcome input in ways that work best for you; whether through voice memos, photos, videos or written form, your input is valuable.
