Information for Prospective Students and Other Research Personnel

Uludag lab is dedicated to providing opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as other research personnel to further their scientific careers. We daily receive request for placements from individuals with diverse backgrounds. However, we are not in a position to respond to all requests. Please be assured that these requests and applications are thoroughly inspected as they arrive. An initial evaluation is based on the suitability of the applicants' background for research projects in Uludag lab. Our specific needs are researchers with backgrounds/interests in (i) organic and polymer chemistry, and (ii) cellular and molecular biology. If salary support and actual supervision time by Dr. Uludag is available, we will advise the suitable applicants for further steps necessary to join the Uludag lab. We appreciate your understanding on this matter and wish you good luck with your future academic endevours.

In case no suitable positions are available in the Uludag lab, there are several other Canadian labs who are working on projects whose goals and/or methodologies are similar in nature. Please check out the web sites of the Canadian Universities. The following publications might also be used as a resource since they are focused on biomaterials, drug delivery and bioengineering activities in Canada:

(1) Biomaterials, Special Issue dedicated to Canadian Biomaterials Research. Co-editors: H. Uludag, Paul Santerre, Mark Filiaggi, and Gaetan Laroche. Vol 26, Issue 35, 2005.

(2) Eur. J. Pharmaceutics & Biopharmaceutics, Special Issue dedicated to Canadian Drug Delivery Research. Co-editors: Jean-Christophe Leroux, Brian Amsden, Hasan Uludag, Helen Burt, Vol 65, Issue 3, 2007.

(3) Biotechnology Progress, Special Issue dedicated to Canadian Bioengineering Research. Co-Editors: H. Uludag and A. Sen, in preparation for 2008.
