"Climate is

what we expect,

Weather is what we get"

Mark Twain, 1935-1910

PCA was also calculated on climate data for the 1991-2002 period after log transformation of the precpitation and degree days variables. The result (plot below) indicate that temperature variables account for most of the variation displayed.

Discriminant Analysis

Reclassification results from disriminnat ananlysis are shown below. Using the 1961-1990 climate accounts for  71 (Taiga Plains) to 90 (Hudson Plains) percent of locations within each ecozone were correctly classified into currently mapped ecozones. climate variation within ecozones.
