ALES Mini-Internship Program
The ALES Mini-Internship Program (AMIP) offers a unique opportunity for students to get first-hand learning experience on careers in agriculture, life, and environmental sciences. Twice a year during the Fall and Winter reading weeks, this program matches students with an industry specific organization for a visit and volunteer work.
PROGRAM BENEFITS
- Gain hands-on experience in the animal science industry.
- Test a career option you’re interested in before you make a commitment to pursue it.
- Make connections and build relationships with a wide range of people to build your professional network.
- Hear about opportunities (some with funding) to get the most out of your education through studying abroad, volunteering, or getting paid to work.
- Receive a certificate of attendance to add to your resume.
Registration for this semester’s AMIP is now closed. More information about the next round of the program will be posted closer to Fall 2023.
- Must be a current undergraduate student at the University of Alberta
- As the program is offered virtually, the following requirements are waived: must be enrolled in, or have previously completed Animal Science (AN SC) 101 (previously Animal Science 200), or have previously participated in the mini-internship
- There are currently no academic requirements for mini-internships outside of Animal Science
Please note that attendance will be taken at all sessions.
