He served for twelve years as General Secretary of the International Fellowship of Reconciliation. In his lifetime he became a close personal friend of Thomas Merton.
- Merton and the Search for Peace - Augustana Distinguished Lecture with Donald Graystone, director of the Institute for the Humanities at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver where he taught religious studies for 15 years. An Anglican priest, he is director of Pacific Jubilee Program in Spiritual Formation and Spiritual Direction in Vancouver, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Ronning Centre and vice-president of the International Thomas Merton Society.
- A Baltic Odyssey: Spiritually Surviving Two Wars and a Revolution - Workshop with Dittmar Mündell
- Mohandas Gandhi, Satyagraha and the Living Out of Peace: Common Spiritual Sources - Workshop with Hannah Goa. Hannah Goa is currently working on an MSc in Human Ecology at the University of Alberta. Her interest in peace studies and Gandhian philosophy was sparked at a conference hosted by the Gandhi Foundation in 1993, since she has travelled to India several times visiting several sites of significance to Gandian culture. She also has worked in Edmonton to better understand poverty in the modern world.
- African Culture and Merton's Vision of Peace - Workshop with Dr. Bitubu-Mufuta Felicien. Dr. Bitbu-Mufuta Felicien was inspired by the writing of Thomas Merton as he considered the devastation of four decades of political violence in Africa. His doctoral work was on African oral literature and his a program worker for Catholic Social Service of Edmonton.
- War and Peace in Thomas Merton - Augustana Distinguished Lecture with Ross Labrie, the author of several books and Professor Emeritus of English at the University of British Colombia and president of the Thomas Merton Society of Canada.
- Deep Structural Fear - Workshop with Archbishop Lazar Puhalo, the Abbot of the Monastery of All Saints of North America in Dewdney, BC. As well, he is Civil Liasion for the OCA in Canada. He has lectured widely and the author of numerous books on a variety of topics.
- Exploring a Pedagogy of Peace through Public Confession - Workshop with Sean Wiebe and Mark Daley, both doctoral candidates at the University of British Colombia. Mr. Wiebe teaches with the Heritage Christian Academy, Calgary. Mr. Daley runs the Heritage Online School, Kelowna, BC.
- Antidotes to Fear: A Conversation on Religious Capacity - Workshop with Zohra Husaini, Virindra Lamba, and David Goa, all who have written and lectured widely. Zohra Husaini, PhD, serves on the Board of the Edmonton Interfaith Centre for Education. Virindra Lamba has served on the Advisory Committee on Religion and Human Rights and the Edmonton Interfaith Centre for Education. David J. Goa is Director of the Ronning Centre.
- Thomas Merton and George Grant - Radical Conservatives - Augustana Distinguished Lecture with Ron Dart, a board member of the Thomas Merton Society of Canada, political science advisor to the Stephen Leacock home/museum in Orillia, Ontario, author of thirteen books and as well, he teaches in the Department of Political Science, Philosophy and Religious Studies at the University College of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford, BC.
