Karen Edwards

Karen brings with her more than 21 years of proven experience in community-based research, partnership development, organizational management, community engagement, and knowledge mobilization. She has held a variety of senior coordination positions where she facilitated responsive research partnerships with communities in northern Canada, Alberta, British Columbia, Atlantic Canada, and internationally. She fostered Canadian engagement and leadership in an international polar science program, coordinated provincial involvement in a national research capacity building program for Indigenous health, and worked closely with provincial and regional organizations on indoor air quality issues in schools. After ten years of working with CUP, one of Karen's most valued moments is sitting with community partners, listening to issues they are experiencing in their work, and identifying ways we can collaborate and generate new knowledge that can create impactful change. She is honoured to be involved in this part of CUP’s journey.
