Join CTL Canvas Specialists for more in-depth explorations of Canvas features from technical and pedagogical perspectives. Short “Wednesday Webinars” on Zoom are scheduled bi-weekly throughout the Winter 2025 term. Each webinar is 45 minutes long (20-minute demo + 25-minute Q & A, sharing, and practice).

With Wooclap and Canvas, instructors can engage students with real-time polling, quizzing, word clouds, and more, leveraging students’ devices to boost participation, gauge understanding, and provide instant feedback.

All about Assessment: A Canvas Showcase

“All About Assessment” is an online, self-paced course for University of Alberta instructors to learn how to use Canvas Assignments, Rubrics, Quizzes, SpeedGrader, and Gradebook to create engaging and effective assessment, streamline grading, and provide meaningful feedback.
Join us for this 20-minute webinar where we’ll showcase the All About Assessment course content and structure. We will highlight our Canvas design decisions and strategies in building the Module structure, Page content, and more with the intention of creating an organized, easily navigated experience for users.

In this 20-minute webinar, we’ll go through the most common setup and design mistakes instructors tend to make when first building a Canvas course, from confusing navigation to missing assignments and unpublished modules.
We’ll show you how to avoid these roadblocks and share quick tips to make your course clear, consistent, and ready for students, help you feel more confident in your course setup, and save you time (and brain space) during the term.
