On May 18th, 2022, the 7th annual Round of China-Canada Track Two Dialogue took place between Chinese representatives in Beijing and Canadian representatives joining the call from across Canada. This is the third straight Dialogue that has taken place virtually due to the Pandemic. Previous iteration of the Dialogue took place in Ottawa, Beijing and Banff.

The Canadian delegation for the 7th round of China-Canada Track Two dialogue included;

Gordon Houlden, Director Emeritus of the China Institute, University of Alberta
Andy Knight, Professor of International Relations, Political Science, University of Alberta
Yves Tiberghien, Director of the Center for Japanese Research, University of British Columbia
Philip Calvert, Former Canadian Ambassador to P.R. China (2012-2016)
Jia Wang, Interim Director, China Institute, University of Alberta

The Chinese delegation for the 7th round of Canada-China Track II Dialogue was as follows:

ZHAO Weiping, Vice President of Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs
ZHANG Dan, Vice-President and Director-General of the United Nations Association of China (UNA-China)
ZHANG Haibin, Director of the Center for International Organization Studies, Peking University
DONG Yan, Director, Research Section of International Trade, Institute of World Economics and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences

 

Main points of conversation during the dialogue included:
  • Adhering to Multilateralism
  • Improving Global Governance
