Brian Pinchbeck

PINCHBECK, Brian Roy, PhD. Brian Roy Pinchbeck of Edmonton, passed away at the University of Alberta Hospital on March 5, 1997, at the age of 55 years. The family deeply mourns the passing of their source of strength. Brian was raised in Connor Creek, Alberta, furthered his education at the University of Alberta, did plant breeding research in Medellin, Colombia and Sydney, Australia, and started his professional career at the University. He was a problem solver, analytical to the nth degree, and was always there to offer his assistance to anyone in need.

Brian was dedicated to the family farm and his roots, which lead him to trace the Pinchbeck Family Tree going back several centuries. He loved the outdoors nature continually regenerated Brian is survived by his loving wife, Yvonne; his cherished children, Lara of Victoria and John of Edmonton; siblings, George (Marianne) of Strathmore, Dawn (Wayne) Richmond of Forestburg, Ruth (Ted) Soroka of Cochrane, and James (Marlene) of Whitecourt; Yvonne's parents, John and Josephine Stepa of Victoria; her sisters, Lois (Gordon) Johnson of Victoria and Carolyn (Kevin) Kohan of Regina; several nieces and nephews; a large extended family; and many other friends and colleagues. He was predeceased by his father, Roy in 1992; and his mother, Mabel in 1994. A Memorial Service to celebrate Brian's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 1997 at The University Faculty Club, 11434 Saskatchewan Drive, Edmonton.
