The Student Experience Conference (SEC) is an annual gathering of post-secondary student support professionals, researchers, academics and student leaders committed to enhancing the student journey. Building on a legacy of collaboration, the conference provides a dedicated space to student experience champions to share insights, build multi-disciplinary networks and co-create the future of holistic student support and services.

When will registration open?

Registrations are anticipated to open in February 2027.

When can I expect proposal submissions to open?

Proposal submissions will open in October 2026.

Are there requirements for submitting proposals on specific topics?

Yes. To ensure community authenticity and respect for indigenous knowledge systems, if a proposal focuses on Indigenous research, systems or topics, the lead presenter must be Indigenous.

Refund policy:

All registration for the Student Experience Conference are considered final and non-refundable. We are unable to provide refunds for cancellations or non-attendance.

Who is invited to this event?

Anyone interested in learning about the student experience. This can include but not be limited to post-secondary student support professionals, researchers, academics and student leaders committed to enhancing the student journey.

Where will the conference be held?

Where will the conference be held? The conference will be located on North Campus at The University of Alberta. The venue will be announced closer to the conference date.

Are meals provided?

Yes. Meals are provided, including a light breakfast, lunch and a snack.
