What the Program has to offer:
The 2025 Summer Mandarin Program in Taiwan is a two-month Chinese language study abroad program run by the Department of East Asian Studies at the University of Alberta in partnership with the National Taiwan Normal University (N.T.N.U.)

Term Dates: June 23 - August 21, 2025
- June 23-24: Registration and Placement testing
- June 30: New student orientation and Class schedule released
- July 1: First day of class
- August 21: Last day of class
Eligibility Requirements
Open to: All Faculties
Level: Undergraduate, Graduate
Prerequisite: Students who have had a minimum of 1 year of Chinese college equivalent or more (completed Chinese 101/102 or higher before July 2025) are eligible to apply for the 2025 program

Anticipated Costs:- Tuition (NTD 19,400= CAD 820)
- Other N.T.N.U. fees (NTD 3,684 = CAD 156, including registration fee NTD 2,500, Textbook fee NTD 1,000, Mandatory medical insurance fee NTD 184)
- Housing on campus (NTD 40,000= CAD 1,693, including water, electricity, and Wi-Fi)
- Meals (CAD 1,000 if dining on a budget)
- Transportation (NTD 2,400 = CAD 172)
- Round-trip airfare (from Edmonton to Taipei, CAD 2,200)
- U of A Education Abroad Application Fee (CAD 250)
Housing
Students will stay in the dorms on campus in a two-person room.
