Eligibility Requirements

Here are some Waseda-specific eligibility requirements about which you should be aware:
1) Most of the schools (i.e., faculties / majors) at Waseda require a 3.1 cumulative GPA but 3.6 if you wish to take courses in the School of Culture, Media and Society. Please see "Requirements and Course Lists" on the Waseda website for more information about their varying GPA requirements.
2) Some schools (i.e., faculties / majors) at Waseda might have additional and/or higher requirements in areas other than GPA that are not mentioned on this webpage. Once again, please see "Requirements and Course Lists" on the Waseda website for more information.
3) Undergraduate applicants, except those who apply to the School of International Liberal Studies (SILS), must have completed at least 12 years of school education (excluding higher education/education at university) or equivalent in a country other than Japan. SILS applicant must have completed most of the secondary education (6 years) in a non-Japanese educational system.
4) Graduate applicants must have completed 16 years of school education or equivalent in a country other than Japan.
5) At the time of application, applicants must have completed at least one semester at UAlberta.

PLEASE NOTE: An exchange to Waseda's School of International Liberal Studies would be a good opportunity to improve your Japanese since they have a requirement for 10 hours of Japanese language instruction per week at the longest depending on your Japanese proficiency level.
