Reading + Conversation and Water Walk with Marjorie Beaucage
Join the CLC and LitFest for a Reading and Conversation with Two-Spirit Métis artist and waterwalker Marjorie Beaucage. The reading will take place on Friday, October 18, from 12-1 PM in Henderson Hall (Rutherford Library South 1-17, U of A).
Later that afternoon, Marjorie will lead a walk down to kisiskâciwanisîpiy. Meet at Henderson Hall at 3 PM.

2024 Kreisel Lecture with Kate Beaton
Award-winning cartoonist and author Kate Beaton gave the 18th annual Kreisel Lecture on March 7, 2024.
Kate's lecture will be published by University of Alberta Press in February 2025.

On March 4, 2024, Dr. Julie Rak, English and Film Studies Professor and Henry Marshall Tory Chair, and Dr. Sara Dorow, Sociology Professor and Director of the International Institute for Qualitative Methodology, spoke about Kate Beaton's Ducks: Two Years in the Oil Sands and its representation of gender and labour in the oil sands.
