Summer Student
The summer student research program is an ideal way to get involved in an active research project, gain valuable lab experience, and make some money as well. Hands-on research experience will be an important asset for your CV.
Most summer students are funded through competitive studentships from the Alberta Innovates Health Solutions (AIHS), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), or other such agencies. Occasionally, some supervisors are able to support summer students directly from research grants.
To apply you need to identify a supervisor willing to take you on. You can start by looking at our staff research profiles on this website. By late November you can also find job info on the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry web site.
The summer research project will last between 2 and 4 months, in the period of May through August.
The AIHS studentship is valued at $1,300 per month.
