Dean of Students + Associate-Vice President's Advisory Committee

The Dean of Students and Associate Vice-President’s Advisory Committee (DAAC) is a student advisory group that aims to enhance the student experience at the U of A through direct student input. Co-chaired by the Dean of Students and the Associate Vice-President, Student Experience, the committee provides an opportunity for students to ask questions and give feedback on programs, services and initiatives coordinated through Student Success and Experience.

We are currently seeking student volunteers interested in joining DAAC for the 2026-27 academic year.

Goals

  • Improve the student experience at the University of Alberta.
  • Receive key advice and feedback from students.
  • Provide an opportunity for students to ask administration questions about student affairs and services issues.
  • Provide an opportunity for students to have their voices heard on important issues.
  • Provide an opportunity for students to gain valuable leadership, consultation, and decision-making experience.
  • Create space for discussion between Student Success and Experience leadership and students, particularly students who are not in official student leadership roles.

Member commitment

Meetings will be held in person during the academic year in October, November, January, February and March. Each meeting will be scheduled on Wednesday evenings, 4 p.m. to 5:20 p.m.
