Academic Citizenship: Integrity and Belonging in the Learning Community

This course is intended to support a shared understanding of what academic integrity means in the context of our learning community and the role it plays in academic citizenship. While primarily created to support the Student Academic Integrity Policy, Academic Citizenship: Integrity and Belonging in the Learning Community is open to everyone at the U of A including faculty, students, administrators and other staff members.

 

Foundations of Student Academic Integrity

This course introduces the guiding principles of the new Student Academic Integrity Policy (SAIP) and provides a brief overview of the policy itself. This training is available on Canvas and is mandatory for anyone involved in addressing academic integrity concerns at the University of Alberta. While it is required for some, the course is open to all members of the University of Alberta community and will benefit anyone engaged with the policy.

SAIP for Decision Makers

This course is designed to support and guide individuals responsible for administering, advising on, or adjudicating academic integrity complaints. This course covers key information on procedural fairness, recognizing and mitigating bias, and applying the SAIP framework. It is mandatory for anyone involved in addressing academic integrity issues at the University of Alberta to complete this training.

Before enrolling in SAIP for Decision Makers, participants must complete the prerequisite course Foundations of Student Academic Integrity. Once they have completed the prerequisite, they can register for the course. Registration may require 1-2 business days for processing. Once enrolled, the learner will receive a course invitation via email.
