Welcoming Dr. Brian Fauteux, Professor of Pop Music and Media Culture Recognizing Adam Robertson, recipient of a Faculty of Arts Graduate Teaching Award

The Department of Music extends a warm welcome to Dr. Brian Fauteux, incoming professor of Popular Music and Media Culture. Dr. Fauteux received his doctorate in communications from Concordia University (Montreal) in 2012 and has recently completed a SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowship in Media and Cultural Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research focuses on music and radio from a multi-layered perspective. His forthcoming book, Music in Range, explores Canadian college radio, culture and local music.

The Faculty of Arts recently recognized graduate student and teacher extraordinaire, Adam Robertson. A doctoral candidate in choral conducting, Adam most recently taught Aural and Keyboard Skills (MUSIC 151). He has also taught Introduction to Western Art Music (MUSIC 101) with great review. Adam conducts Edmonton Youth Choir's Boys Choir and is assistant conductor for the University of Alberta Mixed Chorus. A heartfelt congratulations to Adam on this well-deserved award!
