On the afternoon of June 13, 2019, the U of A community celebrated the academic achievements of its 2019 Spring graduates from the Faculties of Arts, Extension, & Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation. Each has toiled and excelled in their field, and we'd like to take this opportunity to say congrats - well done, everyone!
During the ceremony, Juno award-winning classical composer and professor Allan Gordon Bell received an honorary degree. Bell urged the class of 2019 to pay attention to what's around them, to learn from failure and move on, to practise compassion and to resist cynicism.
