»Let's Talk Science strives to improve Science literacy through leadership, innovative educational programs, research and advocacy. We motivate and empower youth to use science, technology and engineering to develop critical skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to thrive in our world.

The All-Science Challenge is coming to Edmonton!

What?

» The All-Science Challenge first ran in 2005 at McMaster University (Hamilton, Ontario) and was developed for junior high students. Since then it has spread to a number of Universities from coast to coast. In 2008 the University of Calgary Let's Talk Science Partnership Program adapted the All Science Challenge for high school students. May 2010 will be the first time that The University of Alberta Let's Talk Science Partnership Program runs the event in Edmonton!

»The All Science Challenge (ASC) is a one-day, trivia and hands-on science competition typically open to students from Grades 6 to 8. The All-Science Challenge is an engaging and fully interactive group engagement designed to expose students to the concepts of multi-disciplinary research, critical inquiry and the general joy of discovery in an environment of exciting and friendly competition.

Who?

»It could be you! The All Science Challenge (ASC) is designed for students from Grads 6 to 8.

Where?

»In Edmonton, at the University of Alberta campus.

When?

»Friday May 14th, 2010

Why?

»Why compete? For the love of science, to have fun, and also to compete against other schools in the province to see who can rise to the All-Science Challenge! But if that's not enough ...great prizes will be awarded! Stay tuned for details.

»The national Let's Talk Science office supplied the majority of the direct funding for this project through their "bandaid fund".

»The University of Calgary LTSPP designed and supplied the materials for the majority of the events. They also supplied a great deal of experise and support. This event absolutley would not have been possible without the support of the University of Calgary LTSPP. Funding for the university of Calgary was from The Alberta Ingenuity Fund.
