Possible Exchange Periods

Unless the student exchange agreement with your home institution specifies otherwise, you could study at UAlberta on exchange only during our Fall Term (September – December), Winter Term (January – April) or for a Full Year (Fall + Winter Terms).

Please note:

1) Although you could study at UAlberta in our Fall + Winter Terms, we would not be able to consider a single nomination and application for study during our Winter + Fall Terms (i.e., during a calendar year).  Exchanges in a calendar year might be possible but would require 2 separate nominations and applications (i.e., one nomination and application for the Winter Term and then, at a later date, the other nomination and application for the Fall Term).

2) You cannot study at UAlberta during our Spring Term (May – June) or during our Summer Term (July – August).

3) You’ll have access to a series of online orientation modules to help you prepare for your journey to and time at UAlberta. Module completion is voluntary. The online orientation modules are only accessible once you've been assigned a Campus Computing ID ("CCID"), and you'll find an entry point to the modules in your Bear Tracks account.  Not all of the online orientation modules will be relevant for exchange students.

4) You're also welcome to participate in any relevant in-person orientation events and welcome services that are scheduled before the start of classes each term.  In-person orientation events and welcome services can change in nature, timing, and length from year to year so make sure that any information you find on the ualberta.ca website is correct and up-to-date for the time that you wish to participate.
