Check Your Status

Hurray! You've submitted an application to the University of Alberta. You will now be assigned a U of A email address, a student ID, a Campus Computing ID (CCID) and access to Launchpad. Please note, it may take up to 48 hours after submitting and paying for your application to receive your student number and CCID.

Student ID

Your U of A student ID can be found on the top-left of your Launchpad status page, above your program choices. This is unique from your application number (also referred to as your slate ID), which can be found on the right-hand side of your Launchpad status page.

Launchpad

You will use Launchpad to upload documents, check your application status, review checklist items and more. You can log in to your Launchpad account using the email address you used to create your account and submit your application.

Campus Computing Identification (CCID)

Your CCID will grant you access to your email account and to Bear Tracks.

Bear Tracks

Bear Tracks is our online student service system. Once you are admitted and have accepted your offer, you will be able to use Bear Tracks to enroll in courses when registration opens in April.

U of A Email Address

You will be notified via email any time there is an update to your admission status, and we will primarily use this email to correspond with you - so be sure to regularly check your inbox!

Submit Outstanding Documents

Reference your checklist in Launchpad to see what outstanding documents and other items are still required, and ensure they are submitted by the deadline indicated on our Dates and Deadlines webpage

If you need to make updates to your application after you have submitted it, such as correcting errors or omissions, or if you have questions about the course and grade update process, please reference our Submit Updates webpage.

Out-of-Province Students
Your transcripts may not be transferred automatically. Please ensure they are sent to and received by the University of Alberta.
ApplyAlberta Applicants
Your final Alberta high school transcripts will be sent on your behalf when you apply through ApplyAlberta.
International Students

Apply for a study permit.

If you are an international student currently studying in Canada, you must obtain a new study permit for post-secondary studies, even if you already have a high school study permit. Take a look at our International Student Services page for more information, and reach out to our International Student Advisors for help.

For more information on process and timing, including when to apply and when to expect to receive an offer, reference our Evaluation Process webpage.

Accept Your Offer

When your admission offer is available, you will be notified to accept your offer in Launchpad. For most students new to the University of Alberta, a non-refundable tuition deposit is required in order to accept your offer of admission and confirm a spot in your program. Your spot in the program is not confirmed until we receive your payment. Find out more about deadlines as well as the tuition deposit and how to pay.

Should you receive an offer to your second choice program, you are encouraged to accept it and pay the non-refundable tuition deposit. Your first choice program will continue to be assessed throughout the application cycle. If you receive an offer to your first choice program at a later date, you can accept this and your non-refundable tuition deposit will be transferred from your second choice offer to your first choice offer.

If you applied for residence, you will also accept the residence offer in Launchpad to secure your space. After you’ve accepted, you will receive a link to your residence contract, along with information about your residence and life on campus.

Register in Courses

Once you have accepted your admission offer and paid the tuition deposit, you will be eligible to register in courses after your enrolment appointment date. In the meantime, you can browse courses and build a sample schedule based on current course offerings. Course registration will open in April 2024.

Change Programs and Priorities

If you wish to change the program(s) that you have applied to, fill out the Program Change Request form in Launchpad before February 16, 2024. This is available 14 days after the submission of your application. Throughout this period, we encourage you to take the time to explore programs using our Program Tool or book a virtual advising session.

Your request will be reviewed by an admissions advisor and, if approved, your original application will be cancelled and a new, fee-waived application form will be added to your Launchpad portal. You must submit this form with your new program choices before the application deadline for the specific programs you wish to be considered for.

You can only request one program change per application.

After a program change form is submitted and approved, any existing admission and associated scholarship offers will be cancelled.

If you wish to swap the priority of the program choices already on your application, please submit your request through our Contact Form by June 1, 2024.
