Adjustment to the Fall 2020 Admissions Process

We recognize the current anxiety and uncertainty our Canadian and international applicants are experiencing as a result of COVID-19. In order to provide clarity in a rapidly changing environment that has seen disruption of secondary and post-secondary school operations as well as final assessments and grading, the University of Alberta has made adjustments to admissions-related deadlines and document requirements for Fall 2020.

Check Your Status

After you have submitted your application, you will have access to the UAlberta Launchpad portal to check your application status and review any checklist items for your program.

In addition to access to the UAlberta Launchpad portal, you will also be assigned a new UAlberta email address, a unique student number, and a Campus Computing ID (CCID). Your CCID and student ID numbers are issued as applications are processed.

Student number

Note that this is different than your application number.

CCID

Your CCID will grant you access to your email account, and to Bear Tracks.

UAlberta Launchpad

After you've applied, you will use this portal to upload documents, check your application status, review checklist items and more.

Bear Tracks

Bear Tracks is our online student service system. Log in with your student ID and CCID to apply for residence and / or scholarships and awards.

UAlberta email

Your UAlberta email address is the one we will use to correspond with you. You will be notified via email any time there is an update to your admission status. Some key emails may be sent to both your UAlberta and personal accounts.

Submit Outstanding Documents

Check your To-Do List in UAlberta Launchpad to see what outstanding documents and other items are still required, and ensure they are submitted as soon as possible. We understand that current conditions or restrictions due to COVID-19 may impact your ability to submit documents by the deadline. If this is the case, please contact Student Connect to discuss your options. For professional program applicants, please contact your faculty directly.

ApplyAlberta applicants

Your final Alberta high school transcripts will be sent on your behalf when you apply through ApplyAlberta.

Out-of-province students

Your transcripts may not be transferred automatically. Please ensure they are sent to and received by the University of Alberta.

International students

Apply for a study permit.

If you are an international student currently studying in Canada, you must obtain a new study permit for post-secondary studies, even if you already have a high school study permit.

For more information on process and timing, including when to apply and when to expect to receive an offer, see Evaluation Process.

Accept Your Offer

When your admission offer is available, you will be notified to go to UAlberta Launchpad to accept your offer. For most students new to the University of Alberta, a non-refundable tuition deposit is required in order to accept your offer of admission and confirm a spot in your program. Your spot in the program is not confirmed until we receive your payment. Find out more about deadlines as well as the tuition deposit and how to pay.

If you applied for residence, you will also accept the residence offer in UAlberta Launchpad.

Register in Courses

Once you have accepted your admission offer and paid the tuition deposit, you will be eligible to register in courses after your enrolment appointment date. In the meantime, you can browse courses and build a sample schedule based on current course offerings.

 Change Program Priorities

The deadline to submit program change requests has passed. If you wish to swap the priority of the program choices already on your application, please submit your request through our Student Connect Contact Form by June 1, 2020.
