Check Your Status

After you have submitted your application, you will have access to the UAlberta Launchpad portal to check your application status and review any checklist items for your program.

In addition to access to the UAlberta Launchpad portal, you will also be assigned a new UAlberta email address, a unique student number, and a Campus Computing ID (CCID). Your CCID and student ID numbers are issued as applications are processed. It can take up to 48 hours to receive your CCID and login information once you have submitted and paid for your application.

Student number

Note that this is different than your application number.

Your CCID will grant you access to your email account and to Bear Tracks.

UAlberta Launchpad

After you've applied, you will use this portal to upload documents, check your application status, review checklist items and more. You can log in to your Launchpad account using the email address you used to create your account and submit your application.

Note: Your UAlberta student ID can be found on the top of your Launchpad status page, above your application program choices. Your application number (also referred to as your Slate ID) is on the right-hand side of your Launchpad status page.

Bear Tracks

Bear Tracks is our online student service system. Log in with your student ID and CCID to apply for application-based scholarships and awards. Once you are admitted and have accepted your offer, you will be able to use Bear Tracks to enroll in courses once registration opens in April 2023.

UAlberta email

Your UAlberta email address is the one we will use to correspond with you. You will be notified via email any time there is an update to your admission status. Some key emails may be sent to both your UAlberta and personal accounts.

Submit Outstanding Documents

Verify your Checklist in UAlberta Launchpad to see what outstanding documents and other items are still required, and ensure they are submitted by the deadline indicated on our Dates and Deadlines webpage

If you need to make updates to your application after you have submitted it, such as correcting errors or omissions, or if you have questions about the course and grade update process, please take a look at the Submit Updates webpage

International Students

Apply for a study permit.

If you are an international student currently studying in Canada, you must obtain a new study permit for post-secondary studies, even if you already have a high school study permit. Take a look at our International Student Services page for more information, and reach out to our International Student Advisors for help!

For more information on process and timing, including when to apply and when to expect to receive an offer, see Evaluation Process.

Accept Your Offer

When your admission offer is available, you will be notified to go to UAlberta Launchpad to accept your offer. For most students new to the University of Alberta, a non-refundable tuition deposit is required in order to accept your offer of admission and confirm a spot in your program. Your spot in the program is not confirmed until we receive your payment. Find out more about deadlines as well as the tuition deposit and how to pay.

If you applied for residence, you will also accept the residence offer in UAlberta Launchpad to secure your space. After you’ve accepted, you will receive a link to your residence contract, along with information about your residence and life on campus.

Register in Courses

Once you have accepted your admission offer and paid the tuition deposit, you will be eligible to register in courses after your enrolment appointment date. In the meantime, you can browse courses and build a sample schedule based on current course offerings. Course registration will open in April 2024.

Change Programs and Priorities

If you wish to change the program(s) that you have applied to, please fill out the Program Change Request form in your UAlberta Launchpad page before February 16, 2024.

Your request will be reviewed by an admissions advisor, and if approved, your original application will be cancelled and a new, fee-waived application form will be added to your UAlberta Launchpad portal. You must submit this form with your new program choices before the application deadline for the specific programs you wish to be considered for.

You can only request one program change per application.

If you wish to swap the priority of the program choices already on your application, please submit your request through our Contact Form by June 1, 2024
