Make the Most of Open House
It’s the best day to explore the U of A! Start your day at the booth fair in the Butterdome and browse 200+ program options at our faculty and program booths. But that’s not all! We have tons of tours, presentations and special events to choose from.
Follow these steps to get prepared and ensure you take advantage of all the great activities and events taking place during Open House.
Step 1: Register for Open House
While registration for Open House is not required, it will ensure you are in-the-know about all things Open House prior to the big day!
Plus, show us your registration at the Open House check-in table in the Butterdome Booth Fair and you could win some awesome U of A swag.
Step 2: Browse + Register for Tours
Taking a guided tour of campus is a great way to picture your life here as a U of A student. You can also visit hidden gems on campus with our facility/faculty tours. Visit the link below to browse all available tours and register.
All guided tours require registration. 50% of tour spots will be available before October 14 and the rest will be available on the day of Open House. Register early to avoid disappointment, as all tours tend to fill up quickly.
Step 3: Browse Presentations + Special Events
There are so many things to see and do during Open House, including a ton of presentations and special events! Visit the link below to browse all available presentations and special events, and plan your day.
Presentations and special events DO NOT require registration. Presentations are 45 minutes long. Walking shuttles are available to each presentation location and depart 10 minutes prior to each presentation's start time from the Walking Shuttle Departure Zone on the Butterdome second-level concourse.
Special events work on a drop-in basis, and guests can come and go anytime between the hours indicated.

How do I get to Campus Saint-Jean?
Campus Saint-Jean (CSJ) is just a 10-minute shuttle ride away. Shuttles depart throughout the day from outside the Fine Arts Building (FAB).
Frequently Asked Questions
I am visiting from out of town. What accommodations are available?
Stay close to the action! Lister Centre, which is steps away from the Butterdome, is offering special rates of $99 per night on Friday, October 13 and Saturday, October 14.
I am visiting from Calgary. Are there shuttle options available?
We are happy to offer shuttle service to you and your chaperone from Calgary to North Campus on Red Arrow’s Ebus service. Please visit our Calgary Ebus Webpage for more details and to reserve your spot. Please note, students under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
I have registered for a Guided Tour — where do I go?
All tours will depart from the Tour Departure Zone in the Butterdome. Please check-in 15 minutes before your scheduled tour start time.
Is parking available near the Butterdome?
Free parking is available at select parking lots on North Campus during Open House. You can park for free at:
- Stadium parkade
- Varsity parking lot
- Windsor parkade
- Education parkade
- Lot N
- Lot U
North Campus is also easily accessible by transit, with frequent service by bus and LRT (train). Plan your trip on the Edmonton Transit website or using Google Maps.
Are there prizes?
Yes! We will have a variety of prizes, including:- Check-in at the Butterdome Booth Fair and scan your registration for a chance to win some great U of A swag. View contest rules.

Be sure to stop in at the Student Service Centre booth, where you can speak with one of our friendly advisors about admissions, funding and any other questions you may have.
